People! Getting back to my series "One, Two, Three, Four, Five" - When I was heading to Conrad Stone Gallery "Two" had been left on top of my car and flew off somewhere on or about 33Rd and SE Stark. By the time I realized it and went back to retrieve it, someone had taken it. Wow - all my info was on the back of the painting and now someone should have contacted me to give it back. Right? I still haven't heard so if it's you please reach out. Thank you.
It's that time when I go back to old work and see if I can rescue some of it. Still works in progress but at least it's another start.
I began to think about anonymous figures in rather stark environments after a series of events shook the world. Similar figures appear in architectural drawings as "fill" in order to show scale or activity. The figures in my world are emersed in their environments - but what is really happening? The viewer will tell the story.
I've just finished 6 small paintings - 10"x8" collage, acrylic, ink, pencil, charcoal on canvas. They are at Sidestreet Art Gallery, 140 SE 28th, Portland, Oregon. ($75 ea.)
The Series is called "Oregon Rules - for visitors and newbies". These are very important rules to follow so there are no surprises when you come to the beautiful state. The most important rule is "Don''t turn your back to the Ocean". And, while visiting the beach you should also remember to never stand on a log near or in the water.
